Meat Loaf to release guest-filled album

Now 35 years after his debut solo album Bat Out of Hell, Meat Loaf is to release a new record in February titled Hell In A Handbasket loaded with special guests.

Produced by long-time guitarist Paul Crook and released on Sony Music, the new album focuses on how Meat feels about life, and what’s happening in the world at the moment. He’s collaborated with several writers as usual, this time including Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner and Scars On Broadway guitarist Franky Perez on Part of One, country singer Wade Bowen, and legendary songwriter Tommy Henriksen.

Regular duet collaborator Patti Russo appears twice, on The Mamas And The Papas cover California Dreamin’, and Our Love And Our Souls, while rapper Chuck D helps Meat turn Tom Cochrane‘s Mad Mad World into something new by adding the original rap The Good God’s A Woman And She Don’t Like Ugly. The final set of guests are Meat’s ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ team mates, country singer Trace Adkins, rapper Lil Jon and Sugar Ray vocalist Mark McGrath, on Stand In The Storm, which has already seen digital release as a single.
