Nirvana ‘Nevermind’ remaster

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s seminal grunge album Nevermind, Universal Strategic Marketing will re-issue the disc in mutliple remastered formats in September.

All configurations will include the original album, remastered for the first time, which will be available on its own as a single CD. Different levels of package will then include a wealth of additional material, much of which will be previously unreleased. All versions will be release on September 23 in Europe, September 26 in the UK and September 27 in North America.

A 4LP vinyl edition and a 2CD deluxe edition will both include all nine single b-sides released around the original album, eight tracks from the ‘Smart Studio Sessions’, which include previously unreleased demos of songs which made the album, and some which didn’t, eight tracks from the ‘Boombox Rehearsals’, most of which previously unreleased, and two unreleased recordings from a BBC live broadcast.

The largest of the configurations will be a ‘Super Deluxe’ edition which will include both CDs from the deluxe edition, plus two further CDs, one containing an unreleased live concert recorded at the Paramount Theater in Seattle on Halloween 1991, and one containing the previously unreleased ‘Devonshite Mixes’ of Nevermind. Lastly, it will include a DVD of the Paramount Theater concert plus all four videos for the singles from the album. The Super Deluxe edition will be limited and numbered, with 10,000 copies available in North America, and 30,000 available in the rest of the world.

The Paramount Theater concert will additionally be released separately on both DVD and Blu-Ray. The standard and deluxe edition CDs will also be available as digital downloads.
