Hell’s Thrash Horsemen – Going Sane

site

Russian all-out thrash metal outfit Hell’s Thrash Horsemen leave no room for interpretation in either their name or style, right down to the cover image clearly influenced by Ed Repka’s iconic sleeves. Released on their own H.T.H Productions label Going Sane is their second release following 2009′s …Till Violence EP and treads Exodus‘s path of straight-ahead aggressive thrash metal, and while it does have a predominant focus on the stock thrash metal lyrical subject matter of nuclear war, political corruption and genocide, tackling none of them with a great deal of seriousness or credibility obviously, it is a very solid traditional thrash offering packed with all of the fast, sharp riffs and solos thrash fans crave, and vocals which are mid-way between melodic and a harsher bark. The only weak link is closer Kill Fucking Bitch, which is 103 seconds of throw-away riffing and nonsense lyrics. Nevertheless, Going Sane is a short burst of competant thrash that won’t be the smartest things a traditional fan will listen to all year, but will be something most of them should find enjoyable, if they can find a copy.
