Children of Technology – It’s Time To Face The Doomsday

To write Children of Technology’s It’s Time To Face The Doomsday off as a Municipal Waste worshipping album just because it’s tagged as “crossover” would be a gigantic mistake. Packed into less than 25 minutes is some of the best underground thrash released in 2010. Children of Technology’s sound is equal parts skate (Suicidal Tendencies) and nuclear warfare (early Toxic Holocaust) but all of it is infectious. The track It’s Time To Face The Doomsday is a perfect example of why this band works. It’s a serious thrash album, but the lyrics and general feel of the album give off a great party vibe without making it the central concept. I can’t think of a band that’s done that so well since Venom. The bouncy bassline of No Man’s Land, coupled with its sing-along worthy chorus make me wonder why more bands don’t make music exactly like this. If I have to nit-pick and find a flaw with this release, you could say that what Children of Technology do, at least from a basic musical standpoint, is nothing new. That’s definitely not to say it’s not great, however. If you’re a fan of Sarcófago, Celtic Frost, Troma films, Nuclear War Now! records, leather jackets, or circle pitting, I can’t reccommend Children of Technology to you enough.
