The Screamin’ Lords – Long Live Me

site | label | buy
This is a new hard rock band formed by former Agentz bassist Jose Ferro styled in a similar way to classic ’80s rock, but with more modern production values. Much of the vocals are handled (well) by former Michael Schenker Group vocalist Kelly Keeling and guest guitar solos include Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth), George Lynch, Gus G (Firewind) and Loren Molinare (Little Caesar). Many of the songs owe a debt to various ’70s/’80s bands, in particular the excellent Fire In The Sky to Y&T, the Blue Oyster Cult-ish Say What You Will and Gladrags & Limousines to Ratt or Cinderella thanks to guest vocals from another former MSG and current Survivor vocalist Robin McAuley. More surprisingly the wonderful acoustic ballad Sail On could have come from the pen of Tyla or even Bryan Adams. Long Live Me is a solid, fun, hard rock record, but 28 minutes really is too short.
