Nuclear Blast sign Overkill, Throwdown and Varg

German metal label Nuclear Blast has announced their are expanding their roster with three new signings for 2010, with new releases and extensive touring from each expected early in the year.

New Jersey thrash metal veterans Overkill have signed a Worldwide, multi-release deal with Nuclear Blast, excluding North America, which will see a new studio album released early in 2010. After releasing their last three albums on three different labels (Bodog Music, Regain Records and Snapper Music) this new deal is the first time since leaving SPV that Overkill have signed on for more than one release.

Nuclear Blast A&R Jaap Wagenmaker: “Nuclear Blast is very stoked to announce the signing of legendary New Jersey thrashers Overkill!! Growing up with classics such as Feel The Fire, Taking Over and The Years of Decay and seeing the band countless times playing live it is sure to say that one of our favourite bands of all time has finally found their home at the powerhouse that Nuclear Blast is today! We are very much looking forward to start working with Overkill and are eager to release their new album Ironbound to the masses! A new album on which they have returned to their old school thrash roots! The band is already working on a new European tour for 2010. Welcome to the Nuclear Family!”

Nuclear Blast have also signed a deal with Throwdown to release their latest CD, Deathless, throughout Europe and Russia on January 22, 2010. The album was released in North America in November.

Finally, Viking metal outfit Varg have also inked a new deal with Nuclear Blast, and their new album, Blutaar will also be released on January 22, 2010.
