Dio cancel tour

Ronnie James Dio has been forced to cancel the Dio Greatest Hits Tour of Europe scheduled for November and December after falling ill with an unspecified illness. No further information on Dio’s condition has been released, but the tour will not be rescheduled.

The tour was due to start on November 21 in Glasgow and initially it was thought only the UK dates would be cancelled, but eventually the announcement came on November 18 that the whole European tour through to the last date in Neu Isenburg, Germany on December 22. The Black Spiders were booked to open in the UK; Mob Rules in Germany.

Dio’s wife and manager Wendy Dio stated “Ronnie has been hospitalized and we are waiting for further news” on Dio’s website.

Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.
