Construcdead – Endless Echo

site | label | buy
Sweden’s Construcdead bring several styles into their own on their fourth album, including the oft-coined “NWOAHM” of Lamb of God, the melodic death sound of In Flames and the sometimes brilliant extreme/clean vocal interplay of Killswitch Engage, then there are bursts of Slayer (My Haven), The Haunted and Slipknot (Sedated Morning, Mephisto) in some tracks mixed with the main trio of sounds. Through all of it the musicianship and delivery of the songs is superb, every track is brutally heavy, and never lingers too long on any one style, moving between blast-beat-driven speed and groove riffing effortlessly. Endless Echo is Construcdead’s most complex and challenging record, easily the band’s best collection of songs to date. Far better than the latest offerings by almost all of their better-known contemporaries, and in genuine danger of leaving many of them behind, repeating their one-trick sound disc after disc. A true evolution.
