Bible of The Devil – Brutality.Majesty.Eternity
Produced by Bible of The Devil & Mike Lust

On the surface this is reasonably typical European stoner rock. But with an Iron Maiden-style dual guitar sound. And they’re American. So not typical at all, then. It’s also excellent. So it’s certainly not a typical stoner album. One listen to opening intro The Brutality will have you reaching for Number of The Beast in seconds.
Imagine, in fact, Iron Maiden mixed with Motörhead and you’re about where Bible of Devil begin. It’s nice heavy (and a little fuzzy) rock ‘n’ roll with some exquisite twin lead guitar. Other elements drop in an out, including frenetic galloping bass lines (Warrior Fugue), harmony vocals (Cocaine Years, Cocaine Tears) and epic two-part concepts (Sea of Rage). Elsewhere a Motörhead-stomp on tracks like Flee segue with instrumental breaks (The Brutality, The Majesty and The Eternity), all exhibiting sublime lead guitar over pounding rhythms, to create a coherent overall completeness.
Vocally we shift between the stoner rock of Clutch and Therapy? to ‘Blitz’ Elsworth and back with ease, showing off both tendencies at exactly the right moments, never putting a foot wrong. A seriously great balls-out hard rock record that isn’t afraid to be a hard rock record. There are many that could learn a lot from Bible of The Devil.
