Sebastian Bach – Forever Wild
Produced by Sebastian Bach

Having seen former Skid Row front-man Sebastian Bach and his new band in concert earlier in December, the new DVD seemed like a good prospect. Unfortunately, this has proven to be a valuable lesson in expectation, re-enforcing the popular opinion “never look forward to anything, you’ll only be disappointed”.
You can tell this isn’t going to be the perfect viewing experience when reading the tracklist on the back of the box, which is noticeably different to the one on Seb’s website. Not that there are things missing. Or that there are extra things included. Purely the fact that all the extras are listed amongst the songs, not following all the songs as on the website. I realised Seb had committed the worst sin possible on a music video; interspersing the live footage with interview segments. Possibly the most irritating thing ever (see Come Hell Or High Water by Deep Purple and Live And Loud by Ozzy Osbourne for further evidence). Doing this completely ruins the live concert and destroys any possible continuity.
Of course, this wouldn’t have been so bad were it not for three things. Firstly, the quality of the live material is terrible. It looks like it’s been shot by two audience members with handycams. Secondly, Seb’s band are poor. Watching them massacre Skid Row classic after Skid Row classic is painful in the extreme. Lastly, the interview segments that so annoyingly break up the concert are badly scripted, badly acted attempts at VH1/MTV style Rock-Star-On-TV fly-on-the-wall documentary.
Seb really should have waited until he could professionally film a concert with the new lineup (Santolla/Prator/DiGeorgio). Seb really shouldn’t have mixed documentary nonsense with the concert. Seb really should have… not bothered at all.
This is a terrible DVD. Even if you’re a fan, do not waste your money.
